How To Become a Google Partner: The Fundamentals Exam

Google Partners Certification- Fundamentals

This is a post from the Best Methods of Programmatic Display Buying series.

A digital marketer can be a great resource to a market full of businesses sick of spending ad dollars on print, TV, and radio. Has your boss ever said, “Why aren’t we getting any traffic to our online marketplace?” The Partners program teaches you how to write Google ads, get your website ranked on the first page, and plan a keyword marketing campaign- all for the purpose of drawing people to your website and increasing your conversion rate.

By submitting an application with a name like Google and the Partner certification on your resume, it’s at very least a reason for the hiring manager to say ” we need to get this person in for an interview.” The first step in completing your certification is passing the Fundamentals Exam.

What is the Google Partner program?

What is the Fundamentals exam like?

The exam consists of 100 questions all related to the larger concept of Google Adwords. It’s 120 minutes and stops if you close the page before all the questions have been answered or if you run out of time. Each exam requires that you pass with an 80%. You can do the math on how long you have to finish a question (1.2 minutes or 72 seconds), but it took me about an hour and fifteen minutes to complete it. Some questions are harder than others and require more time for thought. Others you’ll find you can breeze by.

Where can I get help studying?

Personal opinion, but the best place in my opinion to get help studying is GyaniAkash because it gives you  a description of why you did or didn’t get the answer correct. Also, to really grasp the concept and understand the terminology, visit Google’s official partner study guide.
